We deserve better
"My background isn't political. It's practical."
Ohio's future should belong to the people, not just the powerful.
Whittney Wood grew up in the same struggles as her neighbors. Now she's running for Ohio House District 73 to make sure someone at the Statehouse actually represents them.
About Whittney
I used to think I was the problem. I was 35, working as hard as I could, and still couldn't keep up. But when I looked around, I saw it wasn't just me. It's all of us.
We do everything right. We show up. We work. And we still can't pay the bills. That's not our fault. That's a government that stopped working for us.
I won't blame my neighbor. I won't be ashamed of struggling. And I won't pretend this is just how life is supposed to be.
This isn't living. It's barely surviving. And the people who benefit from keeping us this way are counting on us to stay quiet.
I won't.
Send me to the Statehouse for everyone who has ever counted change at the gas pump, skipped a meal, or stayed up at night wondering why doing everything right still wasn't enough. I'll be grateful when we take back our government and make it work for the people it was always supposed to serve.
"My background isn't political. It's practical. I know what it costs to live in this district because I live it."
โ Whittney Wood"Ohio isn't broke. Ohio chose who it was going to leave behind. I'm running to change that."

Every kid deserves a good school. I'll fully fund public schools, pay teachers what they're worth, and give students real job training, not just a diploma.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans voted to dismantle Ohio's bipartisan fair school funding formula and redirect hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to private school vouchers.
Tap to go backOhio's latest budget allows the State to discontinue Medicaid funding if the Federal government reduces it. Fairfield County needs increased programs for mental health crises and drug and alcohol dependency.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans passed a budget allowing Ohio to cut Medicaid if federal funding drops and reversed continuous coverage for children from birth to age four.
Tap to go backOhioans work hard but can't pay rent. I'll push for better job training in trades and healthcare and make sure wages keep up with the cost of living.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans have repeatedly blocked minimum wage increases and pushed tax cuts that disproportionately benefit corporations and the wealthy.
Tap to go backOur officers deserve proper pay, training, and equipment. I support fully funding law enforcement, providing real mental health resources for officers, and ensuring due process protections are upheld. I also believe investing in addiction treatment and mental health services reduces crime before it starts.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans cut harm reduction funding from $500K to $315K in the 2025 budget while limiting mental health and addiction services in rural counties.
Tap to go backDefend Ohio's family farms from corporate consolidation, protect water quality, and make sure rural communities receive their fair share of state funding.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans have loosened environmental regulations on corporate agriculture while family farm protections have stalled in committee.
Tap to go backI won't take corporate PAC or Super PAC money. I believe in open budgets, strong ethics rules, and a government that works for people, not for whoever donated the most.
Tap to see GOP positionOhio Republicans have accepted millions in corporate and PAC money and overseen some of the most gerrymandered district maps in the country.

Fairfield County residents pay roughly 3.75% of assessed value with reassessments every three years. I support increasing the owner-occupied credit, capping reassessments, and stabilizing taxes for the life of a mortgage. Ohioans deserve real relief, not a tagline.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans claimed HB 96 provided historic property tax relief while simultaneously cutting school funding, Medicaid, and affordable housing programs.
Tap to go backOhio's public workers are losing bargaining rights one bill at a time. The state budget removed the right to negotiate remote work. SB 1 banned faculty strikes. Workers deserve a voice at the table.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans passed HB 96 stripping state workers of the right to bargain over remote work. They passed SB 1 banning faculty strikes. There are currently 5 active bills further restricting public workers' ability to collectively bargain.
Tap to go backOhio's housing shortage is real and getting worse. I support updating zoning codes for affordable housing and closing loopholes that allow Wall Street firms to buy up single-family homes.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans have opposed legislation limiting corporate landlord activity and have not moved bills restricting hedge funds from bulk-buying single-family homes.
Tap to go backThe bipartisan fair school funding formula was built by education experts. Dismantling it to funnel money into private school vouchers is wrong. I support restoring it.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans dismantled the bipartisan, constitutionally required fair school funding formula built by education experts from both parties.
Tap to go backI would have voted NO. Ohio taxpayers should not be on the hook for $600 million in bonds to build a stadium for a billionaire family. That money belongs in our schools and communities.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans voted to include $600 million in 30-year bonds for the Haslam family to build a domed Cleveland Browns stadium in Brook Park.
Tap to go backFairfield County voters supported the 2023 state constitutional amendment protecting reproductive rights. That was not a suggestion. It was the law. I will fight against every attempt to chip away at rights Ohioans voted to put in their own constitution.
Tap to see GOP positionDespite 57% of Ohio voters passing a state constitutional amendment protecting reproductive rights, Republicans introduced HB 370, a near-total abortion ban, and bills to impose waiting periods and cut Medicaid from reproductive health clinics.
Tap to go backI am proud to be recognized as a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate for 2026. Gun violence is a public health crisis. Ohio's permitless carry law removed training and background check requirements that once blocked over 2,000 dangerous individuals from carrying concealed weapons. I support universal background checks and red flag laws.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans passed permitless carry in 2022, eliminating training and background check requirements. Ohio has no red flag law. Republicans have blocked every gun safety measure brought to the floor.
Tap to go backSB 1 gives politicians more control over our public universities. I believe in academic freedom and keeping politics out of the classroom at every level.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans passed SB 1, giving politicians more authority over public university operations and restricting DEI programs.
Tap to go backEducational policy must prioritize student outcomes, support our teachers, and protect the right of families to stay informed and involved.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans supported HB 326, which restricts how certain subjects are taught in Ohio classrooms and limits educator discretion in curriculum.
Tap to go backThe new THC regulations on edibles and drinks are being pushed by the alcohol industry to eliminate competition. That's a monopoly. They want no competition.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans passed new THC regulations on edibles and drinks that critics say were written to benefit the alcohol lobby over small hemp businesses.
Tap to go backRanked choice voting gives voters more freedom to choose based on policy and character instead of just sticking to one side or the other.
Tap to see GOP positionOhio Republicans have consistently opposed ranked choice voting, arguing it complicates elections and threatens the two-party advantage.
Tap to go backData centers should not be permitted to use our electricity and dump waste into our waters. We need restrictions on water and energy use, the industry is moving faster than the regulations.
Tap to see GOP positionRepublicans have fast-tracked data center permits with limited oversight on energy and water use, prioritizing economic development over community impact.
Tap to go backEvery dollar goes straight to yard signs, mailers, and getting out the vote. No corporate PACs. No Super PACs. Just neighbors helping a neighbor make real change this November.
